View and Continue Setup of My Walmart Intended Items

Updated 3 days ago by Merch Transformation

This functionality is currently available to select suppliers only. We are onboarding Fashion suppliers over the coming months with the goal of being fully launched by July 31, 2025.

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our services, we're introducing a streamlined item setup experience for Fashion domestic items. This change eliminates the need for Supplier Quote, enhances efficiency, reduces cycle time, and improves data accuracy.

What's Changing?

Suppliers who currently initiate item setup for Fashion domestic items in Supplier Quote will no longer need to use Supplier Quote. Note that this new process excludes domestic online only items (will be in a future release).

The New Process

  1. Your merchant submits a commitment in the Assortment Excellence tool (also known as AEX or AEX Fashion).
  2. The Intent ID(s) flow directly to Supplier One.
  3. You, the supplier, complete item/shipper setup in Supplier One (see instructions below).
  4. Your merchant reviews and approves your submissions.

Reminders

Before you continue setup of Walmart intended Domestic Fashion items/shippers, here's what you should expect.

Guiding Principles

Action (if any)

You cannot continue setup for both shipper content items and standalone items at the same time.

Make sure to select either shipper content items or standalone items before continuing setup.

You cannot continue setup of the shipper primes until the shipper content items have been set up successfully.

Complete setup of the shipper content items (on the Items tab) before going to the Shippers tab to continue setup of the shipper primes.

If prepopulated item or shipper data is incorrect in Supplier One, you can edit it as needed.

If Department, Fineline, Quantity of Sellable Items (on your Trade Item Configurations tab), or Quantity of Standalone Items/Shipper Content Items are prepopulated, the values are read-only and cannot be edited.

At this time, you can only use the workflow outlined in this article to create Domestic Fashion items from commitments.

Creating Import Fashion items from commitments will continue using the existing processes for items and shippers.

If your items/shippers were initiated in Supplier Quote (domestic or import), you will continue using the existing processes.

If you provide an existing Shipper Prime GTIN, that shipper's content items and quantities must match the intended Shipper Prime's content items and quantities.

The Sequence Number on your commitment report should match the last digit of the Supplier ID under the Setup Summary in Supplier One.

A GTIN must have 14 digits.

Refer to GTIN Basics for more information.

AEX Intended File/Item Setup

Please ensure all shipper content items and shippers align to the the AEX Intended file recieved by you merchant/planner prior to starting item setup.

View My Walmart Intended Items

  1. In the left navigation menu, click Items and Inventory and select Setup Hub.
  2. Under Supplier Quote, click View.
  3. All of your Walmart intended Domestic Fashion items and shippers are listed on the corresponding tabs. Each row in the table represents one item (or shipper prime) and its trade item hierarchy.
The Items tab includes one row for each standalone item or shipper content item.
On the Shippers tab, click the arrow next to the Department number to view all content items for that shipper prime.
  4. Click the search bar to find items or shipper primes by the Intent ID. (The Intent ID and the Quote ID are the same identifier, and your Merchant will continue to share the ID when the items or shippers are ready for you to continue setup.)

  1. Click Filters to narrow down the list of items or shipper primes by Supplier / Seller Name or ID, Department, Fineline, and/or Award Issue Date (start date/end date).
  1. When viewing intended items, you can download the data in a read-only spreadsheet for all items (up to 500), your current view (50 items), or selected items.

When viewing intended shippers, you can download the data in a read-only spreadsheet for all shippers (up to 100), your current view (50 shippers), or selected shippers.

Continue Setup of My Walmart Intended Items

  1. You can complete setup for up to 50 Walmart intended items at one time (refer to the Reminders above for guiding principles). Use the filter to narrow down the list of items, click the check box next to Department to select all 50 items in your current view, or click the check box on each row to select individual items. Then, click Continue Setup above the table.

Note: Please check the AEX Intended file prior to starting this process.

  1. If you are setting up standalone items, tell us if your items will be sold in stores. (Select No to create an Online Only Item.)
Refer to the article you are currently viewing for the correct process (the Helpful links in the UI go to the existing Supplier Quote HelpDocs for domestic and import items/shippers).
  2. If you are setting up shipper content items, tell us how your items will be shipped.
Refer to the article you are currently viewing for the correct process (the Helpful links in the UI go to the existing Supplier Quote HelpDocs for domestic and import items/shippers).
  3. Select the Product Type that best describes each item. This determines which attributes are included on your prepopulated item setup spreadsheet. Then, click Continue.
  4. Provide the Sellable GTIN for each item.
You can copy and paste a column of Sellable GTINs from a spreadsheet. Make sure the order matches the order the items appear in on this screen. The Description should match what is in your commitment report.
  5. If you provide Sellable GTINs that already exist in your Supplier One catalog, select an existing item configuration or create a new one. Make sure to do this for each Sellable GTIN. Refer to Item Reuse Logic for more information.
If you do not want to use any existing item configurations, click Skip and create all new items.
  6. Click Submit to start downloading your prepopulated item setup spreadsheet.
Completing setup directly in Supplier One is not available for Walmart intended items or shipper content items.
  7. Review the prepopulated data in your spreadsheet and provide any missing required fields. Remember to check both the Product Content And Site Exp tab and the Trade Item Configurations tab.
  8. Submit your completed spreadsheet in Supplier One:
    • Click the Upload button in the top navigation menu.
    • Drag and drop your file into the upload window, or click Choose file to select the files.
      • Upfront validations will check for common errors. If any are found, click the Download error file button to fix the errors before trying your upload again.
      • If no common errors are found, click the Continue button.
    • Provide a submission description.
    • Click Submit.
  9. Track your item setup in the Submissions Manager.
If additional errors are found, download the spreadsheet from the submission details to learn more. Make edits in that file before uploading it in Supplier One.

After standalone items and shipper content items are successfully created, they will no longer appear on the My Walmart Intended Items > Items tab in Supplier One. The Walmart Item Numbers for shipper content items are sent back to the AEX system to be attached to the original Intent ID.

Continue Setup of My Walmart Intended Shippers

  1. You can complete setup for up to 50 Walmart intended shippers at one time (refer to the Reminders above for guiding principles). Use the filter to narrow down the list of shipper primes, click the check box next to Department to select all 50 shipper primes in your current view, or click the check box on each row to select individual shipper primes. Then, click Continue Setup above the table.
  2. Provide the Shipper Prime GTINs for the shippers you are setting up. Then, click Continue.
You can copy and paste a column of Shipper Prime GTINs from a spreadsheet. Make sure the order matches the order the shippers appear in on this screen. The Description should match what is in your commitment report.
  3. If you provide Shipper Prime GTINs that already exist in your Supplier One catalog, the system will validate if the existing Prime’s content items and the intended Prime’s content items match (i.e., have the same Walmart Item Numbers and the same quantity of each content item). If the data matches, the system will prepopulate your shipper information in the next step.
If you provide new Shipper Prime GTINs, you will need to provide shipper prime information in the next step.
  4. The shipper setup page is organized into two sections for each shipper: Details for shipper prime ID [#] and Shipper content items.
If you are setting up multiple shippers at one time, use the progress tracker on the left side of your window to check whether the required attributes are completed for all shippers.
  5. Once the required attributes are complete for all shippers, click Submit.
If any required attributes are missing, make sure to provide the values before clicking Submit.
  6. Provide a submission description for your shipper setup. Then, click the Submit button.
  7. Track your shipper setup in the Submissions Manager.
If additional errors are found, make edits directly in Supplier One.

After shippers are successfully created, they will no longer appear on the My Walmart Intended Items > Shippers tab in Supplier One.
